This is the 180 days license for the Godfeather toolkit early access for Studios.

With a license you will have access to the latest Godfeather toolkit release:

• Your license will be locked to your workstation (node-locked)
• You will need internet access for the activation with the Gumroad server (once, then you will be able to work offline)
• You will receive nodes in .hda format (Commercial)

Which versions of Houdini are ok?

The Godfeather toolkit has been developed and tested on Houdini 18.5 and Houdini 19.0.

The Godfeather is a feather grooming toolkit for Houdini 19.0 created entirely by me.

I worked as a groom artist in films featuring characters with feathers like Maleficent: Mistress of Evil and The one and only Ivan, and I used my experience to shape an ideal workflow for feathers in CGI: a powerful, flexible and artist friendly set of tools that will boost the quality and the efficiency of this very challenging task, whether you're aiming for high end characters at film quality or you want to get your result quickly on smaller productions.

The project has gone through a lot of improvements during the last months, so some of the content of the videos above is quite outdated.

At the current stage the toolkit offers a full solution for feather grooming, including the following features:

• Feather Guides
• Procedural Feathers generation, with proxy geometries for rigging/anim/CFX and UV geometries
• Feather detangling
• Barbs generation with full control of variations and randomization
• Support for procedural texturing and shading

Early access. What does it mean?

Following many requests received in the last weeks I decided to create an early access version of the toolkit as a Gumroad product. You can buy now a 90-days node-locked license for the toolkit at a reduced price.

This first release of the toolkit for Indies will come with limited support and before the creation of a full series of tutorials. Please bear in mind that this is an early purchase of a product still in development. The product will be updated in the following months relying on the feedback from the early adopters.

I will also produce more and more tutorials as well as written documentation.

Can I use this toolkit together with Groombear or another guide grooming tool?

The short answer is "no". You can use curves created with your favourite tool, or imported from a file, as a starting set for a new godfeather guide groom, but this will be only used as an initial input. You can't build a setup with a "live" data connection coming from other guides nodes going through the Godfeather groom node. The Godfeather groom node bakes its own curves internally and the recaching feature is limited.

End User License Agreement (EULA)

This is an agreement between the licensee (“you”) and Fabio Messina. By downloading, installing, and/or handling the Godfeather toolkit by Fabio Messina, you are agreeing to the terms of this EULA. 

• You understand that the Godfeather toolkit (or "software" in this document), including the Houdini nodes (*.hda, *.hdalc), the Python and VEX libraries and the tutorials, is the property of Fabio Messina and what you are purchasing is the license to use the toolkit as outlined in this agreement, not the ownership of the software. Except for your right to use the Godfeather toolkit, all other rights are owned and retained by Fabio Messina.
• Single License. Upon payment in full, you are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Godfeather toolkit on a single machine (the one you will activate the license with).
• Multiple License. If the number of devices you must use the Godfeather toolkit for exceeds the amount allowed by the single license, you will be required to purchase the appropriate number of licenses.

• You may use this version of the Godfeather toolkit for commercial or non-commercial purposes. As the Godfeather toolkit is working on the Houdini platform you will also be bound to the terms of your Houdini license.

• The Godfeather toolkit is provided “AS IS,” without warranty of any kind. The entire risk as to the quality and performance of the software rests upon you. Fabio Messina shall in no event be liable to you or any other party for any loss or damages arising out of the use of, or inability to use, the software.
• You may not decompile, modify, reverse-engineer, reformat, alter, edit, or create derivative software products based on the Godfeather toolkit, or engage any third party to do so without Fabio Messina's permission
• You may not share, sell, lend, rent, sublicense, transfer, give away, or further distribute any version of the Godfeather toolkit without Fabio Messina's permission.
• All purchases are final and may not be refunded or exchanged. Please place your orders carefully and contact me at my email fabio.messina@gmail.com before purchasing.
• Any breach of the terms and conditions of this agreement terminates your license to use the software.
• This license agreement may be updated by Fabio Messina at any time without prior consent or notice.
